Kowalewski, Jerzy
Born in Warsaw in 1924, attended a Swiss boarding school, returned to Poland in Aug. 1939, military service, active in Polish resistance movement, arrested, deported to Auschwitz I concentration camp in April 1942, forced labor in Buna external detachment and then in Gross-Rosen concentration camp, liberated in Dachau concentration camp in April 1945, served in the Polish army until 1947, lived in Italy and Argentina, returned to Poland and worked for state-owned travel agency, now lives in Warsaw.
